Hello, how are the road conditions to drive from Yerevan to Yeghegnadzor? Are there street signs and directions in English?
The roads are good, there are signs with Armenian and English. Safe driving!
Thank you Gira. After Yeghegnadzor I will go to Jurmut, Dilijan then to Akhaltsike, are you aware of any roads being closed or would you recommend a preferred route?
Where is Jurmut? I am not aware of any place like that in Armenia.
It depends on what road you take. All roads are open, beside one road near Alaverdi, which is under construction. It is still passable, yet they close it for couple of hours each day for repair works.
If concern about Jermuk Gndevaz road its open some people closed protesting about gold mining, but it's over.
About Dilijan you can take Selim pass road construction is over(fixing path holes).
Akhltckhe road is good only problem is from the Armenian border to Ninocminda bad road.
You will travel by bicycle or car?
Thanks a lot for the information, I will travel by car.
So, at the end, all roads are open and passable. That's basically what I was telling :)
Thanks for all the information everyone. I look forward to visiting your beautiful country :-)
I’ve been reading a bit about hiring a car and driving in Armenia and Georgia as a tourist and it seems that this should be avoided due to police checks and the language barrier if you don’t speak Armenian or Russian. Are you of the same opinion or do you feel it is ok? Thanks for the advice. David.
Go aged and hire car no problems at all.
If you worry you can hire local driver with car almost same price.
