We will be staying at Kooyu villas -paradise cove. Will be getting a taxi from the airport to the villas, stopping to get supplies along the way. I would like an idea of the cost of a taxi?? Do we pay a flat fare or per person? There will be 3 of us. TIA

The taxi is a flat rate rate independent of the number of people (as long as you can fit the 3 of you and all luggage it will just be one fare).

See the Top Questions about Port Vila in regard to buses which charge individuals.

There is a board on the left as you come into the arrivals hall which has the rate for taxi fare to each hotel.

If the hotel offers transfers it may be cheaper.

There is also a water taxi from the centre of town which goes to Paradise Cove area...might be worth investigating when you are in town one day.

Just got back from Port Villa last week.

You can catch a bus from the airport (any shuttle bus with a B in the number plate) and they will take you anywhere for 150 vatu per person. There are LOTS of busses everywhere, especially in town, so getting dropped of at the supermarkets and grabbing another one when your finished will not be a problem. Pretty much every other vehicle is a bus!

The busses pick up several people so its not always the fastest option but its cheap and often good fun.
