Safari in Keyna - First 2 Weeks in November Y or N?

First timers to Africa! We are looking to visit between 28/10/17 to 12/11/17 to combine some safari with some beach time. Where is the best place to go on safari during this period. I've read that this is the start of the dry season in Kenya and there aren't too many animals about? Any advice is appreciated. (We'd also be prepared to go to a different country if it meant a better safari experience).

November will work out very well but not sure if its still a high season in Kenya. You can shop around and compare apple to apple and choose the best.

In my opinion, the best time & park is during the Wildebeest migration in the Mara btwn Jul-Oct.

If you're staying at the coast & want to go for safari, the closest Parks would be Tsavo & Amboseli.

Nov thru ,mid-Dec is the 'short' rainy season, but it's rare for there to be wet all day every day. Maybe a brief amazing thunderstorm and then maybe brief overnight or morning showers. The animals are there as they don't have time-shares for vacation elsewhere. Besides you are not walking outdoors.

Nov is good with game drives though short rains may be experienced and if so not each day and this does not affect the game viewing, you will see as many animals as possible

If you are not yet committed, you may want to bear in mind that following yesterday's momentous Court Judgement, ruling that the Presidential Election was null and void, and ordering a new election within 60 days. That would mean the elction would likely to be held on 31 October. Which is both 60 days and a Tuesday (the day elections are usually held).

Although the recent election passed without major incident, as did the previous election in 2013, we are going into unknown territory now, Hopefully Kenya will navigate through this period peacefully, but there are now many unknowns.

We holiday practically every year mid Nov - mid Dec and have never suffered from lack of animals ( Tsavo E &W), apart from Rhinos - I think they are sent an e mail telling them we are coming! We have occasionally had a day of rain, but only for an hour or so and it very quickly dries out.
