E-Visa Question

Hi everyone!

I just received my Kenya E-Visa through the online service (www.ecitizen.go.ke). The process was as easy as could be and I received my visa within a few hours of submitting my application.

I was just wondering what I am supposed to do with the large letter-sized visa that I received! I was expecting a traditional-sized visa that is affixed in my passport, but this thing is huge! Just wondering what everyone else's experience was with keeping this sucker secured in my passport and not losing it in the shuffle of travel.

Many thanks in advance!

You simply present it along with your passport when lining up at the immigration desks at the airport.

Glad to hear it was easy!

Print it, several copies if you are worried about losing it. You might have to show it on checking in. On arrival, you hand it to an immigration officer, with your passport and an entry stamp is put in your passport, with the valid length of stay written by hand.

I have been trying for 2 days to access the web site to apply for my on line visa. Each time I am told it is not accessible.

On the paper you print you will see. A series of letters starting SEA

This is the number immigration write in your passport next to the visa stamp

They stamp your passport now instead of the big sticker

I understand that the website is crashing frequently, due to 'heavy traffic'.

The evisa process was pretty easy and issued very quickly. The only suggestion I have is to finish app all at once, I tried starting and finishing later and that didn't work as well. I started new app and it went through just fine and I submitted before bed at 10:30 in USA when I woke up it was processed.

Bear in mind that the e-visa should not be applied for earlier than 90 days before your date of travel. The website should not allow you to make an early application, but some have been caught out.

There is a bit of time to be saved at the airport if you have an e-visa, otherwise there is no real advantage to this, over the application on arrival.
