What is your best Bali Tip? a bit of fun

If someone told you they were off to Bali and saked you what is the best tip you would give them for their trip.......what would it be?

If somone else has already given the tip, then give your next best!

Hmmm there are many, but probably to print out and take my price guide.

Will never forget the time we took newbies and they bought something 5 minutes after landing (so to speak) when my back was turned and they bought a bottle of fake after shave and a cap and paid 350 000rp. ($40) Should have paid 35 000. ($4).

Your money will go quick as a flash if you have no idea of what to pay.

The Balinese are very clever LOL.

Go with an open mind, an open heart, a sense of humour, patience and don't judge a book by it's cover.

I agree with Whinnie. Open your heart and your mind to a whole new world and culture and don't be turned off by the poverty, begging, dirt, and hassling. Remember that despite all its beauty, Bali is a third world country with poor infrastructure, bad roads, etc. Get out of the touristy areas and head into the country and see the 'real Bali'.

Remember to take your Travelan, Travel Bug, Inner Health, or whatever. I suffered 3 days of absolute hell on one trip and I remember very little else. It could well put a first timer off for good.

I also wish to say to explore and see the beautiful countryside, interesting towns and villages and wonderful Balinese people you meet all over the island.

I tell all newbies to go with an open mind and to respect the Balinese and they will respect you in return.

I also mention that you will love it or you will hate it.

Its a good idea to take a powerboard with you, for battery chargers, camera and ipods etc...as everyone always wants to use the adaptor at the same time..this way 4 things can charge at once!

The powerboard is a good one - we always do that.

Be aware that the touristy (Kuta, Sanur, Ubud, Nusa Dua) areas are only a very small part of Bali - get out and see someof the rest, even just for a day trip.

Don't worry about purchasing VIP....the Immigration queues have been moving much quicker for some time now.
