Lavender MRT station elevator...

hi we were going to stay at oasia hotel but having come across V hotel lavender which is also on top of a MRT station and is on the route from the airport and as we would rather get the train than a taxi (as will not have a car seat for little one) could any locals or those who know please confirm if there is a lift/elevator at lavender MRT so it is easy to get from platform to street level with a suitcase or two and a pushchair...many thanks xx

All MRT station have at least one stepfree route to street level. All have escalators too.

Hi Pinkfluffykit,

If you are staying at the V Hotel, please note that there is no lift at the hotel side of the road. The lift is across the road at the ICA Building. I was there yesterday and commented on it to a friend. There are escalators. I saw hotel guests dragging their luggages onto the escalators. Not sure how that will affect you especially with a pushchair.

Good news is that I saw a small blocked off area at the corner of the station near the hotel. Some works were going on. Hopefully they are putting in an elevator there as it would definitely help. There was no signboard so I could not tell.

Pinkfluffykit, if you have any problem, just ask for help from any passerby. Singaporean are a helpful lot, IMO. Just that we are shy to make the first move sometimes.

Hope this helps.........

Hi. Just to confirm for you. The only functioning elevator from the station to street level is at the ICA building side. The elevator from the station to V Hotel street level was constructed recently but has not been released for usage yet. Like others have said, you have to either use the escalator or go via the elevator from across the street and walk over (which can roughly be a five minute detour). Good luck!

Johnny,

I think it is more than 5 minutes detour. There is a barrier (fence) in the middle of the road. So OP needs to go to the traffic junction Kallang/Lavender in order to cross the road. Or walk down towards the school and cross there. Not convenient especially with luggages and pushchair.
