Direct bus to Torres del Paine from el Calafate

Hi,

We would like to book a bus from el Calafate directly to the Torres del Paine park, without going via Puerto Natales, in February.

We are happy to join a day trip to the park and just not go back to el Calafate at the end of the day, but have them drop us off at Hotel las Torres instead.

I have seen reference to a company called Always Glaciers offering this service, but their website seems to be down.

Can anybody tell me if Always Glaciers still run this service? If so, how much it would cost (and if buses run every day of the week)? And if any other companies offer this service?

Thanks!

Hello. Here is a link to the Full Day TdP tour offered by Southroad. You can try contacting them through contacto@southroad.com.ar.

southroad.com.ar/ingles/lugares_calafate_9.p…

You can also contact Always Glaciers at info@alwaysglaciers.com or at transito@alwaysglaciers.com for their schedule and prices.

If you want to be dropped off in TdP for one night at either Hotel Las Torres or the less expensive Refugio Torre Central (dormitory-like accommodations) near Hotel Las Torres, you can ask Southroad or Always Glaciers to drop you off at the Amarga TdP entrance station after the end of the TdP tour. You would then take the Hotel Las Torres shuttle to either Hotel Las Torres or Refugio Torre Central. I don’t know the exact schedules, but in the past these Full Day TdP tours from El Calafate usually made their last stop at the TdP Amarga entrance station at about 16:00. The Hotel Las Torres shuttle schedule has not been updated yet for the upcoming season, but last year their shuttle left Hotel Las Torres at 16:00 to take passengers to Amarga. I would expect that you could get on the shuttle coming back to the hotel. You can contact Hotel Las Torres about their new shuttle schedule (the shuttle is free to hotel guests, but last season it cost about 3000 Chilean pesos per person in cash or about $5 U.S. per person for the one-way trip for non-hotel guests) at info@lastorres.com or through the link below:

http://www.lastorres.com/en/contact/

The cost of the trip from El Calafate to TdP is much more expensive (maybe about $160-180 U.S. per person) on these Full Day TdP tours than the return trip (about $60-80 U.S. per person) since they don’t include the TdP tour on the return trip. These one-way trips from the Amarga TdP entrance station to El Calafate used to leave Amarga between 16:00 and 17:00. You can contact both Southroad and Always Glaciers for more information. Good luck.
