Revel or Borgata?

Wife and I are looking for a 3 night getaway during the week in Feb.

Revel is offering rooms for $79/night (Groupon offer) and Borgata has standard rooms (lower floor) for $89/night.

We've never stayed at either hotel, but have been to the Water Club and are familiar with the Borgata.

We don't gamble at all. But instead just looking for a place near by (we're from Philly) to relax by the pool, get some spa treatments, and enjoy good food and drinks.

I've read so many conflicting reviews of the Revel that I'm hesitant to book there. Most agree that the facility is gorgeous, but many complain about the bad service. I'd prefer to go to Revel but I don't want to be stressing over bad service for the entire stay.

Should we take our chances at Revel or should we pony up the extra $10/night for the Borgata?

Or should we go somewhere else entirely?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Revel being on the boardwalk would be my pick. You can stroll the boards and explore other casinos, resturaunts etc.

Revel suffered many teething problems. I think they have fixed many of the issues.

I suggest Revel. You can both sit in the two swivel chairs in front of your floor~to~celing windows and take in the view [ask for a higher floor]. Take advantage of Mussell Bar HH. And, if you like, easily walk to 3 other casinos. Or, walk longer for go~Karts & Irish Pub & perhaps just enjoy the Boardwalk. Borgata is not as easy to go anywhere else

Last time I was in Water Club, Saturday, there were <ahem> 'man' stains from the previous tennant. I 1st noticed one in the middle of a mirror hung high on the wall, then later more than one on the window overlooking the windmills, then the last one I noticed, and there was apparently no attempt to clean this one, was on the back of the fainting couch by the window. The back was facing the window, so it wasn't noticed until the fainting couch was moved. The room was on FL24

"If Hard Rock reaches a deal for Revel in the next several weeks, the company will likely shut it down for a renovation, the Post said."

Revel may be sold and closed, or enter bankruptcy again.

He didn't address it because he was the previous tenant. He forgot to clean up after himself

Borgata's standard rooms are very nice. Considering the possible sale and temporary closing of Revel I'd go with Borgata.

Is there any difference between "Standard - Lower Floor" room and a "Classic" room at the Borgata other than floor location? Rates between these two are $20/night extra respectively.

I would book Revel as it is quieter for us on the casino floor and the restaurants don't have long lines.

I do like Borgata but some days it is just too crowded, noisy and smoky. Also the long lines places to eat are a turn off.

A nice view of the ocean from Revel is soothing.

Good Luck with whatever casino you book.
