Are money changers open during Chinese New Year

Hi,

Will be arriving at Taoyuan Airport on Jan 31 and was wondering if money changers in the airport are open during that date? I understand that it is a holiday and several establishments are closed.

Thanks!

Good question - I hope so. Are they open at 2300 usually? I arrive on 9th Feb.

The bank windows in the airport will remain open. But outside of airport, it will be very difficult to do money exchange.

@Poorjar

Awesome! Thank you :-)

Aside from airport Money Changers, I am assuming the ATMs are also available in the airport even on holidays correct?

I've seen in older threads that there are also Bank of Taiwan ATMs in the airport and that they accept MasterCard ATM cards, so am also considering that as it might have a better exchange rate.

Not all windows are open 24 hours, but there are 24 hour windows in both terminals (on the first floor). There are also ATMs in the airport, but since there are past reports that some ATM cards are not accepted in Taiwan, it's best to also have a backup plan.

If your desperate, go to a good hotel to exchange but the rate will be bad.

Yes, do not rely on the ATMs totally as not all are accepted. Thanks for the info on 24 hour service.
