Hi,
is there someone who took bus till Krabi center and then to Ao Nang beach? is it easy? is it worth to do it? We just want to save money, (taxi cost around 550 BAT, but bus ~ 50-100 BAT).

Hi,
I don't think there is a bus from Krabi Airport to Ao Nang. I believe you will need to take a bus to Krabi and then change there for a local songtaow. Depending on how many persons are travelling the taxi could be cheaper, it certainly is a lot more convenient.
Edited: 11 years agoWe are a couple, and yes, as I have read that we can get till the city center and then change to another bus till Ao Nang, but the question is - how often they are going? does someone know the schedule??
Hi,
I don't know the schedule but they are frequent. It is not a regular bus but a pick up truck, known locally as a songtaow. Anyway, they do the route between Krabi town and Ao Nang.
Ok, I think we will try it and then let's see :))
There is a 12- seater minivan direct from the Airport to Ao Nang for 150 Baht. It will pick up and drop off at your hotel.
but then we need to wait until this minivan is full and then who knows whether our hotel will not be the last one :)))
Are you all sure guys? I recall there being buses for about 150 Baht per person from Krabi Airport to Ao Nang... They were waiting outside the airport at the times of each inbound flight & the touts will take you to them.
They are pretty old & the air-con really struggles to keep up, but I don't recall having to change bus or get into a songthaew....
They also take passengers on the way back to the airport, & the timetable is centred around the departing flights.
I hope I'm not imagining this, Im pretty sure that's what the go was when I was last there a couple of years ago!
Perhaps it does go to Ao Nang, but the particular bus that I took went to Krabi town only. Maybe someone can shed some light on this issue.
Edited: 11 years agoWell, we just returned from Krabi and were staying at Mercure in Ao Nang area. Took the shuttle bus from the Airport which dropped us right at the Mercure Krabi Deevana hotel. Tickets are available from within the airport for the Shuttle bus for 150 Thb/person and took about 45 minutes after dropping a few other people on the way. Taxi's are available for 600 Thb. For us, the bus ride was pretty good as we got to see many areas of Krabi which we would not have seen otherwise. Not much difference in time taken by bus n taxi (maybe 10 minutes extra) but half the price if there are 2 of you.
@Fusion111, thank you for your comment - we will take the shuttle then!!!
