Hi, we will visit Johor Bahru a week after Idul Fitri, and this is our first time go to Johor Bahru. We also plan to visit Kota Tinggi to see the firefly park there, my concern is the distance to Kota Tinggi is quite far from Johor Bahru, and we will return to Johor at night (around 8.30), what is the best way to travel? does taxi or grab is possible considering distance and time?

This company rins a bus from KT to JB but no results are showing for your dates. This might be for a number of reasons.
The nost reliable way is to prebook a taxi. There are several taxi companies listed on Google based in KT, just choose the most established or best reviewed one.

There is a public bus (myBAS T10) that runs from Kota Tinggi to JB Larkin and JB Sentral:

Not the most comfortable, and I don't know the service reliability, but good to know as a backup.
