restaurant for 50th wedding anniversary

We are a family of 11 travelling to KL for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. I would like to book a nice Malaysian restaurant to celebrate. We have plenty of great european restaurants here in Melbourne so would like more of an Asian inspired experience. Thank you! We are staying at the Traders.

Hi Imb

There are so many choices in KL. There are some great and highly regarded places at Starhill Gallery and one of our favourites is the Lemon Garden at The Shangri La, the most devine buffet dinner in a great setting. This way there are choices aplenty and there is food from all around the world, taste wise. Like maic said a budget will be helpful and if you would like a wow factor food or ambience wise. KL menara tower has a revolving restaurant that is one of a kind, if you would love a view. You will find the right place as Kl is foodies heaven.

You could try a restaurant like Songket or Bijan (Malay cuisine). These are more upscale though.

Your parents are In KL? If so, a restaurant close to where there are staying.

If they are with you traveling from Mel, and also staying in Traders, can suggest Hakka restaurant- walking distance.

Or Royal China or Ibuanda which is few meters apart.

Or Bombay Palace or RamaV

Hi

As you are all staying in Traders then head to Hakka - good prices and nice asian food.

If you want something more upmarket then perhaps Madam Kwans at Suria KLCC mall across the park and under the Petronas Towers.

There are some great places to eat, from cheap and cheerful to Gucci mega bucks.

Restaurants in the Starhill Mall, a couple are 'rated' some of the best in Malaysia like MY Thai Jim Thompson, Enak and Gonbei or Shook, plus there are some really nice restaurants at the Pavilion Mall which is just opposite Starhill, both on Bukit Bintang.

Look at their website for a guide

The Suria KLCC Mall also has some great restaurants

Then for the ‘nice’ or ‘gucci’ stuff . . . ..

The Binjan is very popular

as are the Samadhire / Tamrind Restaurants

and the Bon Ton

and the CoChine

and Rama V

All offering some great 'western concepts’ in the hotels if you fancy a change from Asian food.

The Albion offers a western feel

The 5* hotel restaurants can be worth a look, especially Lafite, at the Shangri-la are all worth of note

As is the Li Yen Chinese Restaurant for dimsum at the Ritz Carlton Hotel

ritzcarlton.com/en/…Default.htm

The restaurant on the higher floors at Traders Hotel, Gobo Upstairs Lounge & Grill, offers lovely views, and you can always head up to the Skybar afterwards for the best vies of the Petronas Towers. shangri-la.com/en/…goboupstairsloungeandgrill

The Veranda Restaurant at the Carcosa Seri Negara, a colonial hotel in Lake Gardens, which is about 10 minutes taxi from KL Sentral [(+60 3 2282 1888] might be worth checking out. The Drawing Room is a popular place for ‘afternoon tea’ shr.my/index.php/…

Hakka, 6 Jalan Kia Peng (90 Raja Chulan), Kuala Lumpur (+60) 3 2143 1908 located in an old building behind the Pavilion

having celebrated my 50th a few years ago, a nice authentic restaurant would be my choice over a gucci restaurant!

Have fun!
