Well.... I guess it depends on what area of town you are interested in and how far you are willing to walk.

The Bridge Street area has a Westin and there are several decent restaurants in this shopping area. Connor's Steakhouse, Texas de Brazil, BJ Brewhouse, Bravo, Cantino Laredo, PF Chang's, etc.

There is also a movie theater with a fairly nice bar in it that serves sushi and some interesting apps.

I live near downtown and there are some great restaurants here but no hotel w/in walking distance. A super easy drive or Uber but....

In this area there is a Homewood Suites which is near the hospital district and there are a few restaurants near here; Ruth's Chris, Taco Mama, and a cajun place that I think is terrible.

There is also a Spring Hill Suites but it really isn't near anything just yet. That is a growing area but nothing currently.

As much as I love my little pocket of Huntsville, I would suggest staying near the Bridge Street area if you are looking for activities. The Space and Rocket Center is close by and driving to downtown for the few museums isn't that difficult.
