Huntsville & Nashville

Our daughter is attending space camp in June on a scholarship. Hubby and I will hang in the area while she's there. We're looking at Huntsville & surrounding areas to enjoy, perhaps Nashville too. Itinerary recommendations?

Visit Scottsboro for Unclaimed Baggage, Fort Payne, Little River Preserve and Desoto State park. It is a scenic area and great bargains. Also Lake Guntersville is nice.

At the top of this page click on "Things To Do" for a listing of places to visit around Huntsville. In addition, there are many things worthwhile outside of Huntsville. The Jack Daniel's Distillery in Lynchburg, TN and Miss Mary Bobo's for lunch (need a reservation though). Cathedral Caverns in Woodville. The General Joe Wheeler home in Hillsboro. Tuscumbia has Ivy Green the birthplace of Helen Keller and also visit the Rattlesnake Saloon while in the area. There's the Blue and Gray North Alabama Civil War Museum in Decatur.

Ivy Green, Helen Keller's home, also offers an outdoor performance of "The Miracle Worker" in June. Well worth a visit.
