Lomani v Tropica v Matamanoa
Save

Hi,

I hope someone can help please. We are a couple who are very active, on the wrong side of 59, and can not make up our mind for 7 nights at Lomani, Tropica or Matamanoa.

We are staying at Denarau for 7 nights before a 7 night Mamanuca island stay.

We love to:

relax on the beach with a good book or just gaze, daydream and swim as we feel like or as the heat dictates.

go for walks & explore

kayak

snorkel (but not at the serious level)

short day trips to any place of culture or interest.

We also like good food.

Cleanliness is a must.

Looking forward to reply and advice

Thankyou in advance

Hi LyndyLouNewcastle

We stayed at Lomani Island resort for a week in February 2014, a surprise for my hubby's 50th B'day.

It was our first visit to Fiji & our first island stay & we loved it!

The beachfront bure was huge with indoor & outdoor shower, tv with hard drive full of movies (only used one afternoon due to pouring rain) & air-conditioned with a lovely lounge to stretch out on plus a massive king bed.

The restaurant food was fabulous, massages great & the rates also included village, daily snorkel trips etc. plus the resort pool is huge.

Some resorts do charge extra for the daily activities so keep that in mind if you have a budget.

I have looked at Tropica & Matamanoa myself for another trip & they do look wonderful. I am sure other travelers will be able to help with these resorts.

Honestly no matter where you choose you will have a wonderful time :-)

Hi Fort86,

Thankyou for your detailed reply.

Lomani is still standing out but we are open to other TA comments re Tropica & Matamanoa so we can make up our mind.

Cheers

Hi Lyndylou. I was going to reply to you yesterday but in all honesty you have singled out three great possibilities so it may have to come down to your own preferences (along with budget and availability of course). I can let you know that Lomani is situated on an island ideal for exploring given that it has good paths leading all over the place and they offer free bikes for guests to use. Also when they take you snorkeling off the sandbar this is an easy entry snorkel with plenty to see not too far off.

Hopefully you'll get more feedback about them all to help you make up your mind but, as said above by Fort86, it would be hard to go wrong and you're bound to have a lovely time no matter which you decide on.

Hi Dianz,

Thankyou for your response Lomani has chalked up a couple of more "points" and is sitting on top of the list at present.

Have stayed at both lomani and matamanoa.

Lomani have great food and you have the ability to walk through to plantation and musket cove resorts. As plantation is a sister resort to lomani there are plenty of activities available. Snorkelling is not the best here however they do have daily trips. The staff are wonderful and we stayed in a beachfront Bure which was great

Matamanoa has the secluded island feel and pristine reef circling the island and beaches to die for. We snorkelled and kayaked the whole way around the island. We stated in the garden room as there was no other rooms available which was great although we were jealous of people staying the other bures. We found the choice of meals limited. Staff and facilities where excellent

Can't comment on tropica sorry

Hi Daniel K,

Thankyou for your great feedback. We have taken into account the snorkelling not being wonderful and the beach not as nice so are still tossing up which one would suit us best.

Probably Lomani for the variety. But still deciding!!

Thanks again
