One day in Johannesburg

Hi,

We'll arrive in Johannesburg at 11 am and the next flight we have at 7 pm. At this time, we would like to explore the city. We thought about buses http://www.citysightseeing.co.za/joburg.php. I have a question for you:

- Where we can leave luggage and how much does it cost?

- How to get from the airport to the red bus?

- Is an alternative to explore Johannesburg?

Kind Regards,

Mateusz

You can leave luggage at the storage facility in the upper basement, below the international arrivals hall. It costs R70.00 for 24 hours, per piece. For a few hours it will be less. They will ask for cash, in ZA Rands, in advance.

Take the Gautrain to the Gautrain Park Station ( change trains at Sandton), You can get the red bus at the Gautrain Park Station.

Alternatives could be:

Take a taxi

Book a private tourist guide/driver

Essentially, you will have between about 12h00, and 17h00 .....about 5 hours, including travelling time to and from the airport.

Thank you. What is price for transport by Gautrain to the Gautrain Park Station?

Is taxi safety?

You can find the fares on the website for Gautrain, here:

http://www.gautrain.co.za/

Taxis are safe, as long as you take one of the ACSA approved taxis ( the desk is in arrivals)

Hello for the train, you have to buy a card at the window, then the fare is extra. The Card you keep and load money on it to use again.

A better option is to use a tour operator who would collect you from the airport with your luggage (so you dont have to pay to store it) and do a tour - to maximise the short time you have. They will drop you back at the airport with your luggage.
