Thanksgiving crowds

Hi,

Traveling to Palm Springs during the week of Thanksgiving and wanting to visit Joshua Tree national park. I'm guessing the park will be super crowded Thanksgiving week. Anyone been in recent years who can provide any tips to mitigate wait time to drive into the park, or what day of Thanksgiving week might be the best day, traffic and crowd wise, to go?

We don't need a camp site - just looking to drive into the park and make a few scenic stops.

Thanks so much!

Super crowded like Yosemite or Yellowstone or Acadia during high season? No. We were there 2015, and found the popular hikes parking was full by 10am. Entrances and roads were not busy, however.

It was cold, with cold wind, with frozen dirt trails before noon.

If all you want to do is drive and take scenic stops, then no problem, no crowds. I would drive from north to south and exit Cottonwood Springs to make a nice loop back to Palm Springs.

Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving for sure will be quiet.
