Traveling with a 10, 8 and 4 year old - overnight in Sonora?

Traveling from Yosemite to SF in August. Is it worth while to overnight in Sonora to show the kids Gold Country. Current schedule is: 2 nights in Carmel, 2 days/ 1 night in Yosemite, 1 or 2 nights in Marin (depending on whether we stay in Sonora) and 4 nights in SF? Figure staying in Sonora overnight also gives us a littles more time to stay the day n Yosemite (i could only get hotel in Yosemite for 1 night).

Thanks!

2 days is rushed in Yosemite. What would you like to see in Marin ? I would take that day and add it to Yosemite (I guess the hotel issue does come up) or do Gold Country. How old are the kids ?

Ask for assistance on the Yosemite forum to find another option for a second night. One night is not enough, especially with kids.
