The town’s limit on private gatherings is more restrictive than the current private gathering limitation of two households and 10 individuals set by the state of Colorado for Eagle County and other jurisdictions currently in level orange COVID-19 public health restrictions.

This is all fine and dandy but once again, how can they enforce it? Just trying to look at the practical side as there are municipalities all over the country doing the same.

Information here re Summit County

I think it will be similar. Folks in Colorado are fed up with out of state visitors disregard for our local restrictions. Pull up in a rental or out of state plates, yeah people are watching and ready to report. Sad that so many tourists think the rules don't apply to them. Pretty much the same folks that claim to love law and order. Our Police are now regulated to basically hall monitors.

Understand your frustrations. We have some of the same problems here in parts of AZ. Very little out here in the middle of nowhere however. We have out-of-state plates but our local +55 community parking sticker is prominently displayed.

A lot of the law enforcement agencies here have said they won't enforce these mandates as they have too many other things to worry about.

Perhaps you're missing some details. Every single short-term rental is licensed and registered. In addition, neighbors and others tend to be pretty proactive about reporting issues with visitors.

My guess is that enforcement will begin with investigating neighbor complaints and then go from there.

As far as enforcement, the police have been evicting people on the spot and issuing each violator a citation with a mandatory court appearance and thousands of dollars in fines. Though I haven't heard of anyone refusing to vacate, my guess is that you'll be arrested and charged with trespassing.

No matter what happens, it's a huge waste of emergency resources and that eviction will certainly come with all the sympathy of emergency personnel being pulled away from their primary roles to deal with entitled 1%ers.

As far as the hope of non-enforcement, that's a pipe dream. In municipalities that have begun cracking down this is happening daily.

Applying this to short term rentals and people from out of town is one thing.

Isn't it also going to apply to residents as well? Citations maybe but you can't evict people from their own homes.

RR, are you advocating people disregard the restrictions?

NO! Are you trying to start something?

It's a simple question. How can it be enforced in private homes?
