Turtles: hatching and nests?

I'm from PA and know nothing about turtles...I was told by Englewood Beach & Yacht Club that they would not put out beach loungers on the beach at this time of year b/c of turtle nests...(10/21-28)....But they "would" allow beach chairs...Just doesn't make sense to me.....Can u explain? Thx

Because the loungers need to be dragged, sometimes over the sand where nests are?

You should be able to avoid ones that are marked, but not sure what the hurricane conditions did to the markers. Whole nests were wiped out further south in Naples/marco

Yes, the beaches are fine. But do repect the turtle nests, incl not using flashlights on the beach at night.
