4th July Celebrations

We are arriving into Orlando on Saturday (4th) and are hoping to get to Englewood in time to see some fireworks, which I believe start around 9pm? Just wondering if the celebrations continue through the weekend or if everything takes place on Saturday?

The fireworks take place on t he day.

However, it is a long drive (about 3 hours+ from MCO) so in general too far ti drive on the night of arrival. Unless you are on one of the flights that get in by noon-1pm. Driving with jet lag is pretty risky.

And say you get there at 9 pm, there will be no parking left on the island (it fills up earlier on the day) so you'd have to watch from the mainland?

Thanks Amanx. Do the celebrations end then after the fireworks? Hadn't really thought about the implications of arriving July 4th till I saw the previous post about shops shutting.! Poor planning on my part!

yes.

I would reconsider your arrival night plans and consider watching the fireworks (and staying the night) in your city of entry ie orlando.

But convenience stores would be open for getting milk, juice etc. such as gas/petrol stations.
