Sarasota or Naples

Hi

We are contemplating spending 3 nights on the east cost of Florida, but are unsure as to stay in Saratosa or Naples. Do any of you have any recommendations, it seems difficult to get an idea of what the difference is between them. Is Naples more a holiday town than Sarasota, or vice versa? We are in our late 20's and would like somewhere where it is possible to walk around, with restaurants and shop.

Naples and Sarasota are very different places.

Both are on the SW coast of FL...not the east coast.

Both have restaurants and shops.

The Sarasota area has the best beaches in the state.

There are museums, parks etc. too.

I would recommend staying at the Lido Beach Resort or on Siesta Key.

I assume you mean the west coast of Florida which is where Sarasota and Naples are located.

When we visit Florida we always stay both in Sarasota (Lido Key) and Naples. They are both very different locations. Using your own definition, Sarasota is more of a holiday town than compared with Naples, which is a more residential location.

Sarasota (Lido Key) has St Armands Circle which is walking distance from Lido Key which has plenty of restaurants and shops. Naples has Fifth Avenue South for restaurants and shops.

I assume you are travelling to the area from another location in Florida and are intending to spend 3 days on the Gulf coast. Therefore another consideration on where is best for you to visit is where you are actually travelling from when you choose your gulf coast location!

Please ask if you have any more queries?
