There are a lot of things to do in Hutchinson that aren't listed in the activities section. We are from a very large metro city and I would perfer to come here anytime with the home town friendliness and family oriented activities.
-Kansas Children's Museum is inside the Hutchinson mall, WONDERFUL! Plan several hours to play with all the toys in the huge play room and then tons of hands on learning and experimental activities. $3 per person.
-Reno County Museum, upstairs awesome playroom. I really enjoyed the historical displays throughout about the town. Free.
-Hutchinson Zoo, nice on a sunny day. Take quarters to get good for the fish. Free.
-Carey Park is next door to zoo, free.
-Dillon Nature Center, must see, activities, up close with lots of little bugs and creatures. Take an extra pair of clothing for the kids, there's a big, very sandy area...you'll be glad for the change. Free. Gift shop had real candy covered bugs, great "gag"'gift. Lol.
-Smith's Market, fun old timey store in downtown Hutch
