Reno in Mid-December?

Would like to visit Reno for 1-2 nights in mid-December but unsure of the weather? Is there snow then? Will be driving up/back from Vegas to see the area. Thanks...

No one can really predict snow. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Chances are that if there is snow, it won't be much and will melt away some during the day. Many storms get caught up in the Sierras.

It is pretty flat the drive from Vegas. The only exception would be around Tonapah in the middle of the state. However if there is a good dusting of snow, there could be a lot of snow on the roads 100 miles out. For a storm of that magnitude the weather forcasters SHOULD have an idea of what is comming. Otherwise as the preivious post states it should be gone by noon.

If you do drive from Vegas make sure you drive the speed limit through all the small towns. As the cops love to give speeding tickets every time the speed limit drops.
