I have never been to the Ramada in Lakewood (grew in Red Bank), but it does not sounds like a great place for a wedding. While they do advertise on their website that they have a banquet hall, the level of service a typical Ramada provides would make me lean away. That being said, I would definitly talk with them, get references from them and talk to people who have used the hall, catering service etc... They may end up having a great price and if others who have used them have positive things to say, then go for it.

As for the Molly Pitcher, it is a quite elegant hotel in Red Bank that provides an excellent level of service, but with a higher price tag. Other places to consider (again with potentially higher price tags) are the Oyster Point Hotel in Red Bank, the Ocean Place Resort & Spa in Long Branch, the Sheraton in Eatontown, and maybe someplace like McLoone's Riverside in Sea Bright I think is a great setting with very good food.

I think the Lobster Shanty on 33 probably would do a good job as well, but I have never eaten there.

I hope this helps!

I have heard of weddings in the Ramada. I was at a dinner recently there, its a decent Ballroom. Can't comment on the prices. You may wanna check Chateau Grand in Lakewood they make weddings there. (There was a republican fundraiser for chaney there in '04)

Lori,

I got married at the Chateau Grand in Lakewood in 2003. IT WAS WONDERFUL! I also blocked out rooms at the Ramada for my guests b/c it is so close to the Chateau Grand. The rooms were very nice. The banquet hall is also pretty nice at the Ramada. Their prices were comparable to the Chateau Grand but I wanted the "Castle" atmosphere as I got married at the hall. The pricing at Molly Pitcher was too high for me and I've never heard of the Lobster Shanty. I would highly recommend the Chateau Grand though. I had my wedding in October on a Sunday night (Columbus Day weekend) and it was $90/head. That's about the range I was looking for. I hope this helps and enjoy your wedding.!

Hello! Actually my friend was married there. They did a wonderful job. There were about 200 guest. The Ramada is the best on price I think it was about 75 per person where the others are over 100. Good luck!
