IMO the best dry reds in the Finger Lakes come from the warmest microclimate, or the so-called "banana belt", on the SouthEast side of Seneca Lake. Shalestone is a small winery that does nothing but dry reds and they are among the best in the region. Damiani and Lamoreaux Landing are in the same general area and also do a very good job on dry reds. But be prepared to pay a premium price for the really good ones from these and other wineries.

Shalestone is great- but they aren't open daily- call ahead to check. Worth the trip.

We also like Atwater, which is in the Banana Belt too.

For some of the best reds also try Keuka Vinyards,McGreggor,Ravines and Heart and Hands.
