On the advice of a guest, Aliz, an Israeli war veteran, we hiked a mountain behind our hotels (we stayed at the Lot, would definitely recommend it as per other members).
The hike was intermediate-some walking on boulders, recommend hiking shoes).
The trail forked on the way up. One trail (red) went to the top. We went on the black trail-led down to a little river which we walked along for a while. Great views of the Dead Sea and mountains. The hike took us two and a half hours at a leisurely pace. We ended back at our hotel to have drinks at the bar by the sea. Great thing to do on a sunny day!
