Looks like it's going to rain...what to do?

We are leaving very early tomorrow for Topsail and it looks like a good portion of our week has high potential for being rained out. Not just the typical summer afternoon quick shower or storm. Hoping that whatever rainy system is hanging around moves out sooner than they think, but it doesn't look promising with the latest update tonight.

We have older teens and are trying to think ahead about what things to do if their beach time is weather-affected (all they really want to do is vegetate on the beach). We have been to the region before but not specifically the Topsail area so aren't as familiar with what other things might interest them. Shopping only goes so far, even with the girls, lol.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, in case we do end up with a rainy vacation.

Boo on the rain. I just gave a look at Surf-chex web cam at the Surf City pier and the weather doesn't look very pretty.Unfortunately you don't have many bad weather options. There are two top notch NC Aquariums about an hour drive for both Fort Fisher to the south and Pine Knoll to the the north. The Turtle Factory in Sneads Ferry will be having artist Julia Frost for her Paint and Drank classes Weds evenings(phone # for details and reservations 910-333-6201). I love her paintings.

Hope you have a wonderful trip even if you have some challenging weather.
