Charleston to DC Road Trip

Me and my family will be driving from Charleston to DC on I95 on December the 29th.

Any suggestions for a good BBQ lunch along the way?

My own favorite is Lone Star at Santee, SC, but that's only about an hour out of Charleston. Something around Florence or Latta would be closer to halfway. You should post this in the North Carolina forum as well.

Whatever you do, don't stop at "South of the Border". You'll be glad you didn't.

IF you are looking for a half way point, Smithfield, NC is pretty close to half way, 3 hours, 50 minutes away from Charleston.

Florence is only 2 hours from Charleston, Latta is only 20 minutes further.

As I recall there are plenty of 'Q places in the area.

There are no barbeque places worth bothering to stop in Florence anyway.
