We love both but if you have kids, there is more to do in Savannah. We liked Beaufort and we took a carriage ride which is a must, visited St. Helena Church and toured the Verdier House. There is a museum at the Beaufort Arsenal but we didn't go there. We enjoy Savannah more because there are so many things to do. Owens Thomas House which has a little map for the kids to find things during the tour, Juliet Gordon Low House, the riverfront has many shops and the Savannah Candy Kitchen which kids love, Tybee Island is not far and you have Fort Pulaski and the little aquarium there, The Crab Shack for lunch or dinner has a little baby gator pond where you can feed them and the food is great. And there is the pier at Tybee and the beach and last year we saw so many sand dollars everywhere which was neat. There are ghost tours, carriage tours as well and also trolley tours where you can get on and off where you want to.
So we like both but we find more things to do in Savannah.
