half way point between Virginia and Myrtle Beach?

we are leaving late on saturday so we would like to stop halfway between Virginia and Myrtle Beach. We would like to sight see for a few hours and stop for the night. Would Williamsburg be okay? or keep going further? Thanks for all the advice!

We will taking I95 of course.

Depends where in Virginia you are coming from; however Williamsburg is a nice stopover, but I don't think it would be the halfway point. Emporia, VA is halfway for me and I am coming from Baltimore. Emporia is right on the VA/NC line. As far as sightseeing Williamsburg might be best option.

Williamsburg is nowhere near I-95.

If you're coming down 95 Williamsburg is kinda out of the way. A fun place to visit, but it's a good hour's drive east from Richmond. But on the other hand there isn't a whole lot to see once you're past Richmond either. Plenty of places to stay but not much to do.

Savant curious as to why you think Roanoke Rapids is not a good idea. Or maybe you just missed my post. :)

Mayra where in VA are you starting from?

Anyway, Emporia, as mentioned and Roanoke Rapids across the border both have lots of options.

If your leaving late Saturday evening, not sure what sites you will see before you stop
