4th of July?

4th of July?

My husband and 3 kids (17, 14 and 10) are traveling to lake George and then on to Burlington. We arrive in Burlington on July 4. I did a quick search and it looks like the July 4th festivities are actually on July 3? We will only be in Burlington on July 4 and leaving the afternoon of July 5. Will there be any fireworks or festivities on July 4?

Any other recommendations of things to do?

Essex Junction probably has the best fireworks nearby on the 4th. Bring a blanket or chairs to sit on. https:/…parades

If you are okay w a drive to the Sugarbush area, the Warren Fourth of July parade is almost famous is it so amazing!!! After the parade there are more events at Sugarbush Ski Resort and then fireworks later that evening. https://www.madrivervalley.com/4th and https://www.facebook.com/warren4thofjuly/

Plus, there are various swimming holes in that area for a post-parade dip! Or, you can hike up Mad River Glen afterwards and drive the App Gap for amazing views!

the best 4th of July Parade IMO is in Bristol, VT. You wont be disappointed!!!

Be aware and prepared - it's really HOT here this week.

The "excessive heat warning" ends tonight, but it is forecast to be about 95° and humid on the 4th with a much higher heat index.

Another vote for Warren.

Hi Angie

One more bit of info for you:

If you do decide to go to Bristol, as suggested by VT_Traveler, rather than Warren, you might want to stop in Hinesburg on the way.

Here's their schedule:

https:/…parades-town-events

There was a big controversy since the town moved the parade to Saturday June 30 to include the 75th anniversary of the local volunteer fire department - small town government at its best.

Lotsa' stuff going on in town and you'll drive right though on the way to Bristol, but no parade.

Fireworks at dusk.
