Bonaire - balcony or ground floor for toddler safety?

Hi, we are going to the Bonaire in just over 2 weeks with our 20 month old son. Just wondered if anyone can advise on safety of balcony rooms versus ground floor rooms? Would balcony be considered safe for an adventurous toddler? Do ground floor rooms have a secure outside area (to avoid wandering)? Any advice gratefully received as hotel have said they will try and honour our request but unsure which is the safest option to go for.

Thanks

All balconies at the Bonaire have a small table and chairs so in theory could be a danger to a toddler if left unattended. Ground floor "balconies " are railed off so your youngster wouldn't be able to wander off. For peace of mind, a ground floor apartment would probably suit you.

In the hotel section click on the link “Traveller tips, help you choose the right room”. This is located above the first hotel review, nearly at the top of the page. May find some additional tips.

Thank you both for your input. I have decided on the ground floor as being the safest and the hotel have confirmed their receipt of my request so will report back in a few weeks!
