Is 4 days too much?

We usually go to Ocean City, MD but am looking for a new beach to visit. Is VA beach with a 12 and 9 yr old a good place for 4 days? Is there enough to do? We're used to tons of mini-golfing and restaurants.

Also need to used Hilton points so would you recommend the Hilton Garden Inn Oceanfront?

Thanks!

You won't find as much in terms of amusement rides and such at VA Beach. The boardwalk is not anything like at OC. Restaurants, condos, and hotels line the boardwalk. There is one compact amusement/go cart park. There are several mini golf courses 2 blocks back from the boardwalk on Pacific Ave.

The Hilton Garden Inn is a nice location but it is in the north end of VA Beach. Most of the stuff you are looking for is at the south end. It's not a huge distance, a bit over a mile.

Thank you. Without driving 10hrs to Mrytle Beach it doesn't seem like there are any comparable beaches that provide the boardwalk/amusement activities like Ocean City, MD.

Any suggestions?

It's a different experience. And yes, it is NOT Ocean City or Myrtle Beach. Some like it better and some don't. The nightly entertainment is a major attraction and reason to come to VB. There are lots of other activities nearby as well - museums, aquarium, rock walls, water parks, Tides baseball (minor league for Orioles), Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg.

The VB Boardwalk is more like a long park, but the boardwalk activities you seek are along the street side, not the ocean side.

I think four days will be the perfect length of time! If you stay somewhere along the boardwalk area, you are within easy walking distance to tons of shops, restaurants, mini-golf, etc. Your kids will love it
