seattle to everett

as per travellingman we are also interested in transferring between seattle/ everett. There is mention of an Amtrack train- can anyone enlighten, or how much would a taxi/ minibus transfer cost?

thanks in advance

it depends on what time of day you are going. I don't know the other post you refer to. Sounder trains go to Everett during commute hrs. Amtrak would run a train on way to Vancouver in early morning, but also has a train to Bellingham or everett on the Emprire bldr. Go to amtrak.com. A shuttle would be $50 minimum. Where were you trying to get to?

You don't provide much information, but I must ask why you would stay at both SeaTac and Everett; they are only about 1.5 hours, or less, apart.

That's not an area I would head for on my holiday unless you are wanting to stay at the hotels located on 128th just west of the freeway....or plan on shopping at the Home Depot on the corner. It is fairly close to the Boeing factory if that is your objective, but you would definitely want a car as this area is not what I would consider tourist friendly. Anyway, here are a couple of options.

A minibus transfer one way from SEA-TAC to the Holiday Inn Express (as an example) on 128th in Everett is about $50 on shuttle express.

You can get there by taking Amtrak or Sounder trains to the Everett Train station and then transfer to a Everett Transit Bus Route 9. That would involve getting from the airport to downtown Seattle to pick up one of those trains.

I have to agree with swhidbey2 on that location. Unless you are visiting family or something, that area is not very pleasant and there are definitely much better places to stay and explore.

I would honestly not stay on 128th and I-5. That is the highest crime neighborhood in Snohomish County. Stay further south near Lynnwood, further north in actual downtown Everett, or in the new hotel at the Tulalip casino. It is supposed to be nice.

The kind of crime that goes on there will not get you carjacked or anything but be aware. I think if you stay on the east side of the Freeway you are ok.

There is a big high school one block north and west of the freeway, and a lot of apartments surrounding it. There is some gang activity in the apartments and near the high school. They are not too interested in tourists, but in each other.
