Help with dinner plans in old city

Hello Philly experts,

Here is my situation

5 adults

one 12yr old (well behaved and used to eating out)

Looking for a place for dinner within walking distance of 3rd and Cherry (basically anywhere in old city)

Type of food is not really an issue, I am mostly just looking for a welcoming space that we ill be able to have a conversation in. ( such as the downstairs of Bistro Romano) byo would be a plus.

Konak (http://www.konakturkishrestaurant.com/ ) would be good for what you're looking for, but not BYOB.

Bistro 7 is a terrific BYOB, but small and can be a bit noisy for conversation.

Fork (not a BYOB) would also be good.

Ariana would be good. Similar food to Konak (better IMO), and BYOB. http://www.restaurantariana.com/

Check out this link to the interactive BYOB map.

http://www.gophila.com/byobmap/

Click on Old City for the neighborhood and you'll find the nearby choices. I'll warn you that most of the BYOBs in the city are small and loud, so not very conducive to conversation.

Honestly if it were me I'd walk up to Chinatown.

Thanks for the responses so far.... I think the key issue is finding a place in old city that we can actually talk and hear each other in (yes..I know this is hard) Typically me and my girlfriend have no problem with small noisy BYO's but we are meeting up with some family at an event at Christ Church.. and ideally I find a place we can walk to and talk at.
