Stop at flagstaff or Williams?

Driving from GCNP to Phoneix area. Where to stop to break up the trip? Thinking flagstaff or Williams? We have 3 kids, would like to find an interesting place they would enjoy!

Stop in Williams and take your kids to Bearizona! It is a drive through zoo which provides a bus tour if you are afraid to drive your own car. There is also a regular zoo with no cages - just pretty habitats.

You can also visit the Grand Canyon Railroad station in Williams. Some static displays, gift shop etc. Best of all, it's free. Even better if you're there when the trains go thru.

Walnut Canyon (just off 40). Take the Island Trail and they can walk through cliff dwellings. There is also a small example of pubelo dwellings on the ground, if you missed Wuptaki (Wuptaki is superior but these will do if time is an issue). If you do the Island Trail you can skip Montezuma's Castle (where you can only view from the ground).

Another vote for Bearizona. Great place.

Tell us your entire trip plan. Sedona is the ideal half way point.

If you let us know the ages of your children and the types of activities they enjoy, we can better help you find the ideal place to stay.

Flagstaff is just shy of half-way to PHX (depending on which end of Phoenix you're trying to get to) but Williams might be more child-friendly.
