We're looking for a small hotel or inn that can accommodate 50-60 women for a weekend retreat. We can share rooms as long as we have our own bed. We would like a pretty setting (as opposed to a corporate-style hotel), and are willing to spend up to $350 p/person for the weekend. We need meeting space as well as break-out rooms.
Any ideas? We're located in OC and would drive up to 2 hours.

11 helpful votes Have a look at www.theranchlb.com. The is the website for The Ranch at Laguna Beach. This has a lovely setting near the beach and has the facilities to accommodate your group.
The Ranch is lovely, we went to a wedding there a few years ago.
A group I know is going to Pala Mesa Resort, Fallbrook, CA for a retreat later this winter. It's about 90 minutes from Garden Grove
Pala Mesa Resort was the first one that popped into my mind. The Lawrence Welk Resort in the same area is another.
Forest Home is right at the 2 hour limit, but it is a beautiful center.

Serra Retreat in Malibu consistently gets good reviews. It's a Catholic based site, but they host many non-denominational retreats in a gorgeous setting.
