Valladolid to bacalar stop suggestion

Hello

I will be travelling to Mexico next month with me husband and 2 small children.

We will drive from Valladolid to bacalar and was looking for suggestions on places to stop on ruote to break up the journey.

We will be visiting playa del carmen and Tulum during our trip so looking for somewhere else that we can stop for a couple of hours.

Online we have seen the Coba ruins which is not exactly on ruote

Thanks for all your suggestions

Chacchoben is small archaeological site near Limones, and probably on your route from Valladolid.

Kohunlich & Dzibanche are bigger, better sites, but not on your way from Valladolid, and require more time.

You also might consider going to Mahahual for the beach.

There are plenty of cenotes such as Dos Ojos, Gran etc
