Thank you for your prompt reply As I do no ski will I be able to do something whilst my husband and two friends go off on the piste? We shall be visiting over new year .

The town does not really have a huge amount of shops , so in a short time you have seen everything.

Some hotels have facilities for swimming and more but the real activities are outdoor- winter walking even to nearby Ehrwald that has a little more in shops ,

Cross country skiing , tobaoggan as other activities.

Some cafes in the town have tables outdoors and depending on the weather many sit relax , eat and drink something while watching the activities of the town.

One nice thing is to take one of the lifts up in the mountains to meet your family for a midday pause . Many huts are available and this is enjoyed by many .

Easy connections to Garmisch and Innsbruck for day trips possible too.

Maybe you can find a way to visit the famous King Ludwig Castle Neuschwanstein by Füssen in nearby Germany

Ah bless you for replying so quickly I am sure that I will be able to keep myself amused reading etc and will do as you say and take the lift to meet them for lunch. The hotel they have suggested is not listed on trip advisor it is called Hotel Bergland do you know of it?
