My kids LOVE to hike and love searching for creatures. Does anyone have a recommendation for a tour guide company that offers night hikes?
There are several. I've done Hidden Valley and Kinkajou in the past and thy were both good. You never know what you'll see, so expectations should be low. It's obviously easier to find stuff in daylight, but the kids seem to really like searching with their flashlights.
For extra fun, pack a black light flashlight. They can look for scorpions with it; they glow a blue-green color when it hits them.
We've done Hidden Valley and enjoyed it. We saw a fox and a porcupine which were both new to us. Usually we just see things like frogs, snakes, and insects so that was a fun surprise.
Thank you! Can't wait - will report back
WE did Hidden Valley also. Saw agouti, large birds sleeping, tarantula, and a sloth . Sloth was a surprise. Guide knew it was there and we were able to get within 6 feet or so of the branch it was on . We were asked to be quiet, look and no pictures ( flash would perhaps have it move).
