The whole American thing was a fun experience, certainly great for people watching!
However, don’t expect a peaceful relaxing time, because you won’t get it!
The passengers were VERY noisy, lots of shrieking, shouting etc.
The food is reasonable in the buffet, but nicer quality in the restaurant , with waiter service.
Everywhere was sooo cold inside the ship- AC was far too high and food got cold too quickly . Jumpers, jackets and towels round shoulders to keep warm was obvious.

Couldn’t believe the casino ! Addicts pouring money in for hours, with fags hanging out of mouths and pizzas
/beef burgers on laps while they played the machines ! The smell of fags spread a few hundred yards from the casino.

It was an interesting culture change for the Brits,( mostly Americans in ship) but we didn’t meet Any Brits who said they’d return . Loved looking at the different foods on offer !

The room service was excellent. We tipped the cleaning ladies but opted out of the large service tips charge. Opting out is at guest services

WARNING:- While in US waters you pay an extra 20% tax, on top of the 18% service charge and another domestic charge!
after 2pm in fridays. ( best kept secret we discovered!)
We didn’t buy anything because every single thing was so expensive - and not just because we got $1.28 to the £.

Enjoyable because of the difference in culture , but often shocked at the lack of manners eg “Give me one of those” . ( not many please or Thankyous from the Americans !
The staff are mostly Philippinos- lovely polite hard working souls.

The cabin was a good size with comfortable bed and nice pillows. Overall the cabin was tired and seen better days.

This Christmas we had the best carnival cruise on the Glory we had in twenty cruises. I have been on twenty plus cruises and I can only remember one cruise Director from the Liberty, Stitch was his name. The rest are a blur until this Christmas we met Cuzin Cookie. OMG! He made this cruise the best Carnival cruise ever. Embarkation Can you imagine eating lunch on Friday afternoon the day before you are scheduled to leave on your Christmas vacation and hearing your ship just collided with another ship Well that is exactly what happened to us this Christmas. I immediately called Carnival, they stated Glory will be sailing or they will find us a cruise sailing and make the substitution. Now I teach third grade and really didn’t care where I was going just as long as I WENT! We arrived in New Orleans around ten that morning. We brought the Carnival transport for 23.00 dollars from the airport. Very convenient! We waited about ten minutes for the shuttle. We took the shuttle back for 23.00 for two. Cruising with Carnival as long as we have I was very surprised not to see any passengers leaving the ship. They had not started disembarkation. So that mean the rest of us had to wait. The Terminal Manager suggested we walk over to the Riverwalk Outlet Mall, which happened to be closed. So many of us stuck in the rain waiting for the mall to open or the terminal to open. So we called an Uber and made a morning run to Wal Mart. We asked the Uber driver to wait and paid the extra. The total came to about 15.00. WalMart is basically around the corner from the terminal. When we returned the terminal was open, however we missed our platinum terminal experience. We have been on at least twenty carnival cruises, this is the first time I really enjoyed the Cruise Director. Welcome “Cousin” Cookie. He was the best cruise director we have ever had on Carnival Cruise. We usually just endure the life boat drills, however Cuzin Cooke made us laugh, if we would have hit an iceburg i actually would know what to do because he was so entertaining. Every event that he played a part in was just the best fun ever.

This was our first cruise and it was quite the experience! Driving to New Orleans to the port was very easy. The garage is shut a short walk and there are people that take your luggage right from your vehicle. Tip them!!! You don't wait very long at all to board. A few security areas and you're on. Once we were able to get to our room, we unpacked and was pretty happy that we picked a balcony for our first cruise. I saw an inside room and that would not be an option! Unless you like small and dark. Food options are everywhere! You will not starve! The Blue Iguana was the tastiest! Of course, Guy's Burger is really good! A deli sandwich with the Guy's fries was our go to. The ship was decent size and we got lost a couple of times. There is plenty to do most of the time. The music goes on for quite awhile at night and we could hear it through the floor trying to sleep. I think that all depends on where your room is. I'd get a room in the back of the ship next time. Lee was the cruise director and he made the days at sea a much better experience. He was really fun and we enjoyed him quite a bit!!! Overall, we had a great time and are actually booking another cruise on the Valor for next year. If you have never cruised, I suggest trying it at least once.

This was a great trip with old friends and new friends. There were five star experiences and some experiences that were not so much. We did two snorkel excursions. One was so much the other not so much. The steak house was exceptional. Overall I can't wait to go again.

Carnival Glory World Carnival Glory World Horrible experience Four of us booked a two week back to back cruise after seeing advertisement in newspaper. What can I say to make sure you don’t waste your money ?? Horrible run down ship that smelt of sewage on the elevator levels, freezing cold in the lounges,so bad that we went to “entertainment “ in overcoats !!! No hot water in our balcony cabin for 10 days even though we reported the problem everyday. Eventually we were reimbursed 300 dollars for the inconvenience, a total joke as the whole ship is a disaster ! Made to wait in very long queues at the information desk while the staff fawned over the diamond passengers. Entertainment was a joke, so amateur it was embarrassing. No dress code adhered to, passengers were in dining areas dressed in ripped jeans and dirty singlets and that was just the men, I will not go into the way most of the women were dressed ! No staff addressed the situation and when asked they told us “ passengers get upset if we say anything “ ????? Food was always cold and had to be sent back on a number of occasions when it was presented undercooked. The ports were dire and nowhere near anything resembling civilisation unless you wanted to spend exorbitant prices for tours. We will never travel on Carnival again it has left a very nasty taste
