Booked the June 3,2020 Iceland cruise in August 2019. They demanded full payment nine months in advance. Then COVID 19 hit. March 15,2020 we tried to get a refund and were informed we’d lose 25% April we receive a letter cancelling the sailing and offered 100% credit for future travel. Nuts!! No way do you get to keep $11,000.00 during these uncertain times. Threats to complain to California Attorney General. Finally told today that a refund was processed. I have yet to see it. Look at the 1 and 2 stat Google reviews. Find another cruise line.

Great trip to remember. This trip made so many stops with the best ever excursions ever. We loved every minute of this trip. Going through the canal was very cool to see the ship move up the locks. All the guides on the excursions were experts and very friendly. Food as usual was fantastic and they even had a lobster night with whole lobsters. I and my wif love this trip the most.

Cruise the Caribbean to end at Mayan Ruins at Chichén Itza Many passengers were excited about visiting the Mayan Ruins at Chichén Itza which is one of the “7 Modern Wonders of the Ancient World”. My wife and I were among others that had visited the remaining 6, Machu Picchu in Peru, Great Wall of China, Colosseum in Rome, Christ The Redeemer in Brazil, Taj Mahal in India and Petra in Jordan. As the Viking Sky set out for our last port-of-call, Progreso, near Chichén Itza TRAGEDY STRUCK. The Captain got on the PA system and interrupted our evening to say that Viking did not have the proper fuel arranged for delivery to the ship the next day in Progreso so he turned the ship to head back to Miami immediately. There was discussion that the fuel contractor in Progreso had fuel ready to deliver that was the same as nearly all competing but larger Cruise Lines used. However, Viking Sky being a newer ship needed a different fuel. UNFORTUNATELY, NOBODY FROM VIKING CHECKED THIS OUT IN TIME TO AVOID THE PROBLEM. The Captain said it was Viking Sky’s 1st time into Progreso and the fuel issue was a mistake. TERRIBLE MISTAKE FOR MANY PASSENGERS. The Captain also said he was going to slow the ship to about half speed for return to Miami. Several passengers on our ship said there were penalties for arriving early in Miami without a minimum fuel level aboard. If so then that could be financially onerous for Viking when using the Port of Miami for future cruises including one leaving on Viking Sky in the afternoon of our Miami morning docking. My wife and I will be among those that avoid taking a Viking cruise anywhere until we are comfortable that Viking has IMPROVED SYSTEMS AND PROCEDURES FOLLOWED THEN BY CRUISING FOR A PERIOD OF TIME WITHOUT INCIDENT. Being vigilant at this time is particularly important as challenges associated with Coronavirus face all of us especially the Cruise Ship Industry.

We left Miami and cruised to Central America! Wonderful trip!Enjoyed the included and optional excursions. Some of the standout excursions was an ATV adventure in Cozumel Our docent provided a great excursion and great history of the indigenous cultures as well.Only negative was that the second part of the trip was to a beach for a swim and that part was way too short. The other excursion was to the private Honduran island called Maya Key— So worth the extra money This was a wonderful beach, lunch and it was also a endangered animal refuge There were birds monkeys and even sea lions- Great time! Now the Viking cruise was wonderful. The food was amazing and the service was extraordinary !Our cabin Steward (room 5046) was off the charts!! I mentioned we’d like to have ice and magically ice was served each day!! Cleanliness was amazing —hand sanitizers everywhere Rooms cleaned twice a day Even stewards at the entrance to each restaurant encouraging guests to wash hands before the meals The afternoon tea was great, nightly entertainment was great and I enjoyed the artwork throughout the ship An explanation if each piece of art was available thru my I phone!!This was a real unexpected treat for me !’The spa even had a Nordic touch with cold pools and even a snow room and then saunas and steam They even had a cold bucket drop A chance to be a Viking! Finally our safety was number one with them While on our Snorkeling excursion there was an earth quake and tsunami alert for Central America. As soon as the alert was announced we were whisked back to the ship We wondered about our snorkeling trip since it was cut short We checked our on line account and Viking refunded our total excursion price First class Viking!’Our once in a lifetime trip to see Central America and the Panama Canal was truly wonderful
