KLIA is the international airport which is 45 mins or an hour away from downtown KL so if you dread the journey, distance, traffic and inconvenience then Subang airport at the heart of Petaling Jaya in Selangor is the most convenient place to fly into or fly out from.

Subang Airport is the old international airport before KLIA was built-in so it's a bit small but due to the proximity to KL, it's most convenient to travel from. I stay at Bandar Utama so it took me about 10-12 mins to reach.

I took a flight TY2143 from Subang to Johor Bahru and the flight was quite smooth and was served with light refreshments. Firefly serves several domestic cities and regional places like Singapore, Bandar Aceh (Indonesia) and Phuket (Thailand). I'll definitely use firefly again in the future for the convenience of landing into Subang airport.

I flew round-trip from KL to Penang. This was my first time using Firefly and it was a very nice experience. The flight time was only 45 minutes and the planes were half full or less which meant plenty of space. The service was excellent with the flight attendants being kind and always smiling. On my return, my scheduled flight was cancelled (they run every hour) but a very kind employee quickly got me on an earlier flight. My only small complaint was before the trip to Penang I didn't think the cabin was cleaned thoroughly enough. Could use more vacuuming. I also asked a flight attendant for a moist tissue too wipe down my seat tray but she insisted she do it for me. Anyway, overall I had a better-than-expected experience and the round-trip ticket was only $80.

Lately as of the last couple of months, all Firefly flights have been delayed. My friends and I had many encounters recently. I was to fly Penang to Subang today on 11:10 flight. Firefly sent me an sms n email last week that flight was cancelled and moved to 1pm. I then called and changed flight to 10am as I had a function at 2pm. Guess what ...flight delayed from 10 to 10:30 n now to 10:50!!!! The morning 8:05 flight was delayed to 10:30!!! My 10am delayed to 10:30 and now delayed to 10:50.
Firefly is becoming very unreliable and I must say its's new logo should be " The Airline that Always Delays"

We(8 pax) departed from T2 ( very luxurious waiting lounge) and for the first time I took a plane with propellers and it was like one of those Indiana Jones movies. However, I was pleasantly surprised that the plane was calm and steady all the way,stewardess served us a snack and a drink efficiently with a pleasant smile. On arrival one of us had a missing luggage lock and we reported to the office at the airport. Our driver Paul Leong (+60125388729 whats app) who was with us all 4 days till he dropped us off at One Utama was very experienced and knowledgeable. It was definitely a very enjoyable holiday at the OCBC bungalow!

This was my first return flight to Singapore from Subang Airport. The web check in was seamless and efficient. They gave 20 kg of luggage allowance which was excellent as l did a bit of shopping. Even though it was a short flight , they provide orange juice/soya bean/water and some snack. Service is really excellent and they are punctual.

The only set back is that they dont flsy to more destinations.
