Red eye allows you to have a full day in Boston to sightsee or transfer. The extra leg room seats are worth the investment and hopefully you can catch some zzzzzs on the flight. Hawaiian has friendly service and good meals. The cabin goes dark for most of the flight to allow you a chance for shut-eye. Logan was easy as far as getting luggage and cab into town.

Direct flight from Oakland to Kauai on a HA new Airbus 321 plane. Check in was easy, staff at check in counter and flight attendants were very friendly. They even gave us a free meal. A hot cheese sandwich with a cookie and drinks. However for 5 hours plus flight there were no inflight entertainment behind the seat. You have to download their app on your phone or IPad to get their Wifi (only on plane Wifi, not general) to watch their movies or flight status. The seats in economy have very little legroom and the aisle was very narrow too. The landing was very smooth and on time!
