The food was better than other airlines.
But the hospitality of the flight crew was superb..!
Very attentive and always on a lookout to see if you need something.
It was a very long flight but the crew made everyone at ease.

Super efficient. Boarding is organized. Flights right on time. Airline attendants some of the most friendly and helpful you will ever encounter. JAL was flying an upgraded plane with more comfortable seats, tinted windows and other amenities. Food was the best I have ever encountered on an airline.
Why can't US based airlines figure this out?

I have to say I have fallen in love with JAL's business class. The service is calm, serene and efficient and the chairs were spotless and condusive for good sleeping.

The food was a standout. I had the Japanese selections with matching saki and it was like eating in a fine Japanese restaurant. The flight attendant spoke of the history of the particular place the saki I was drinking was from which was delightful.

The ammenities kit was one of the best I've recieved in business class and I loved the slippers. This is such a great idea. You don't have to put your shoes back on to wander around the plane and you can simply leave the slippers on board if you choose. (I am now taking these kinds of slippers on board all long haul flights).

I arrived refreshed and ready to go- which is what you want from business class. I will definately fly JAL again.

I flew on JL domestic economy from HND to ITA in February 2018. HND is the main domestic airport in Tokyo and it's a lot closer than NRT from downtown Tokyo. Shuttle bus and train options are available from downtown. Or you may take taxi (less than $100/one way from the most of the hotels in downtown).

At HND airport, JL has a separate security line for Elite members and my Emerald status qualified for it. Almost no one in the line and it was very quick to go through the security. Used JL domestic business lounge prior to boarding. Food/drink options for early in the morning (7 am) were limited. So if you plan to have breakfast in the lounge, you may want to consider a plan B. Coffee was very good, and many power outlets for laptop (be sure to bring Japanese power outlet adopter).

Flight was short (about one hour) and comfortable on B777. JL offers a discounted fare, if you buy at least a few days prior to departure. On board free wifi was also available to keep working for the duration, or to upload to SNS, if you'd like.

Departure/arrival were both on time. Check in at Kiosk, boarding at gate were both smooth. CA offered blankets before departure. A few beverage options in flight, despite the short flight duration. Overall, a great experience.

With most japanese products and design their is attention to detail and polite and efficient service. I found all of the above on my flight to Tokyo, Haneda airport from Singapore. The flight is around six hours so it’s not overly long, but it was a red eye flight so it’s never easy trying to sleep, but not long enough to be uncomfortable for too long. The seats were comfortable and I found adequate leg room. The inflight service was modern and up to date so it was easy to use and the content was good. The food was light and simple and surprisingly tasty, consisting of a starter, some noodles and a yoghurt. Overall I had a pleasant flight, although it wasn’t of the highest quality it was adequate and reasonably priced so in my opinion, value for money.
