I have been a frequent flyer on Malaysian Airlines for the past 4 years for myself and my family. Yesterday on January 10, I had my non-English speaking parents who had to go through a terrible experience in the Perth Airport. According to my parents the staffs were rude as anyone could be. All the hand carry were already cleared at the checkin and through the normal customs checkpoint aswell.
Now just before an onboarding, My mom who is a vegetarian and don’t eat out anything had her packed vegetarian food, few fruits and nuts thrown away, a kilo of both her and my dad’s personal clothes worth couple of hundred dollars were tossed just because it was a kilo overweight in hand-carry which was already cleared in the checkin. Why cleared if it was going to be thrown anyway. My mom was starved terribly by the time she reached home.
What a terrible customer experience from the staffs. I have myself often found the staffs very rude and always looking to charge you extra for even a gram overweight, horrendous service but this time they lost me.
If I were on the top management position, I would be really concerned for the company as they are loosing loyal customers like me and thousands because of such arrogant and awful behaviours to the customers only to loose lifetime values. Definitely not sustainable for the company. They either need to scrap the staffs or train them to at least act like a human.
Never flying again in Malaysian. Me and my family need to fly often in a year. I could only imagine how much they are losing in a lifetime values from unsatisfied customers like me and thousands more.
