“Terrible customer service”
Review of Malaysia Airlines

Reviewed 18 January 2024

Where do I start with this company. On there website they say mine and my daughters name was too long so to only put our initials as passenger details which I did.
I arrived to check in and was refused check in due to the names not being correct so I had to go to the desk for this to be resolved however I had already called and was told this would NOT be a problem.
On my return flight I had selected the COMPLIMENTARY bassinet seats due to traveling with an infant when i got on board i was not given my selected seats even thought there was 6 bassinet facilities seats on the plane and only 1 in use, i have contacted customer service and been told i should have paid for these seats even though complimentary means FREE. As they were unable to provide this service I was advised by malaysia airlines head cabin crew to ask for a refund however customer service only want to give me points.
I WILL NOT FLY MALAYSIA AGAIN AND WOULD NEVEE RECOMMEND.

IF MY COMPLAINT IS NOT RESOLVED I WILL GO TO THE OMBUDSMAN, as you are breaking your contact to which i am covered by the CONSUMER RIGHTS ACT 2015.

Well what can I start by saying other than the worst customer service I have ever been subjected to. I was booked on flight MH0126 on 22nd December departing from Perth Australia and my connecting flight from Kuala Lumpur back to London Heathrow was supposed to be MH0004. I received an email on the afternoon of 21st December advising me that my flight departure time was being changed from 2.25am to 4.15am (which even then it did not depart at the scheduled time suprise surprise). Even though I knew straight away that would mean I would miss my connecting flight MH0004 due to arriving in KL after this one was scheduled to depart there was no further communication until hours later advising me of a new flight. I couldn't even get hold of Malaysia Airlines by phone to try and find out what was happening leaving me to wonder if i'd even be making it home in time for christmas. Staff between departing Perth and at Kuala Lumpur advised me that any expenses I incurred as a result of the delays would be compensated for by the airline, so I thought great, I can book the new train tickets I need and not be out of pocket. Oh how wrong they were, I today received an email saying they aren't liable for any onwards travel expenses because they aren't connected to my airline ticket (very convenient excuse if you ask me). So because of them I am £60 out of pocket which is not money I can afford to lose in the first place

We had a return flight booked for my wife and I to fly from KL to London return. It was the cheaper option and I understand that left us vulnerable to what happened. The morning of our flight my wife became unwell and we visited a GP and missed our flight from KL to London. I contacted the airline and they advised that there was nothing that they could do. I then asked if we could book and pay for a one way trip to London (the return flight was three weeks later). They advised further that as we had failed to take our seats on the flight to London the entire trip was forfeit. I asked for some understanding and empathy and despite the obligatory 'please hold while I refer' I received the brick wall response. No understanding. I mentioned all the trips we had made on Malaysia Airlines even after the MH 370 and MH 17. We had stuck by them. This did not help. We booked a flight with Malaysia and Qatar to get this resolved. The quality of the Qatar plane compared to the tired and old Malaysia plane was stark...I am under strict instructions from my wife NEVER TO BOOK WITH MALAYSIA AGAIN.....

22 Dec, leaving adelaide for Kathmandu, nepal

The journey has been very upsetting. Malaysian airlines used to be my go to flight. But the fact that I was treated as nuisance and the customer service people even failed to acknowledge our presence in the queue was shameful.

The flight was cancelled without notice, 9pm arrival to Malaysia and 9 am tmrw depature. >10hrs and no lounge access given, no accomodation, queue full of north asians !!! Based on passport colour accomodation were provided !!

The incident has affected all of us travellers mentally. The fact that Malaysian airline was not even bothered about customer's experience after delaying the departure and arrival in malaysia and letting the tired customer wander around, lounge access was only provided after 4/6 hours after multiple complaints !! Around 2amish

The incident has left me with a trauma
to ever fly with malaysian airlines !!

The man who spoke to me was direspectful and I did not like the fact that he was laughing when responding, very unprofessional. He should have understood the fact that we are travellers, atleast a room or wet towel to wipe our face or wash our hands. Even this was not offered. A meal voucher of 35 was given to calm the crowd.

Very Disappointing !!

I hope the matter is investigated promptly and wont take another 6 months to get answers !!

Thank you again.
