I went on economy from Melbourne to Kuala Lumpur, and one thing that kind of sucks about the airline is that the planes are always so outdated. The food was okay but the in flight entertainment was very limited and laggy.

This was a transfer flight and we arrived at the airport around 5pm. Our flight was meant to leave after 9pm. We sat and waited only to be told multiple times throughout the night of delays. Around 1am in the morning we get told the flight was cancelled. We waited to get our new tickets and was told we would be transferred to a hotel. The wait for the bus was over an hour. We get to the hotel after 3:30am to be told there were NO rooms and that we would have to go back to the airport. I’m writing this review as we wait for another bus to take us back. The ride to the airport took over 30mins. Never have I experienced a situation like this so horrible. Do not recommend.
Haven't used MH for quite some time, wanted to give it a try on this short sector given the perfect schedule and a competitive price (MH623 on Friday 26th July 2024).
All was absolutely perfect, reminding me of the good old days with Malaysia Airlines. Let me justify: check-in went smoothly with an upbeat & smiling staff at the counter, the Golden Regional Lounge was more than expected with a lovely check-in staff and the lounge comes with a perfect view towards the airpron, plus a lot to choose from in terms of well-presented hot & cold foods, as well as a separate drinks station.
Off to MH623: on-time boarding, very welcoming crew (Mr Dinesh and the team), such a tasty ahot snack on this short hop, and bags on the belt at SIN T2 as soon as we cleared the automated immigration. All in all, a perfect experience with MH on this Friday afternoon 26th July - so happy to see MH deliver Malaysian Hospitality at its best again!
The updated interior on their B737's is a matter of taste, really, and the fact that they didn't include any IFE in the updated cabins may give an advantage to their competitors on some sectors. On such a short hop, we didn't really miss the IFE, but the lack of IFE might become an issue on a flight beyond two-three hours.
Had a terrible journey, sat on the gate for 5 hours then they cancelled flight technical issues . Eventually got to KL onward flight to Melbourne cancelled at end of runway. Arrived 40 hours late in Melbourne, Malaysian agreed to pay compensation re EU reg 261 of £520 each in May 2024, it has still not been paid as of July 2024. Customer relations dept also rubbish do not answer when emailed if they do it’s just to say be patient. Have none left, They are useless would not recommend this airline at all . Have contacted Civil Aviation Authority to report their total failure to comply
BEWARE AND DON'T BOOK WITH MALAYSIA AIRLINES
This was a connecting Manila - Kuala Lumpur, Kuala lumpur- Auckland on 19 July 2024.
WITHOUT ANY EMAIL OR MESSAGE FROM THE AIRLINE, WE WERE DENIED BOARDING (4 OF US) for Kuala Lumpur- Auckland due to overbooking of 30 people on the flight.
We only found out when we were checking-in in Manila.
We had to wait for everyone to check in before we were told we were denied booking due to overbooking of 30 people. We reached Malaysia @ past 5 pm originally 0450 pm but flight was delayed, then rebooked for another flight the next day 20 July 2024 @ 0840M , despite telling that we need to be in Auckland as planned because we paid for a shuttle to bring us to our home 3 hours away from the airport & a family member needs to be taken to the hospital as soon as we get home but to no avail.
The ground crew in Malaysia were not much of an assistance pinpointing us to the Auckland crew to sort out our predicament about the shuttle and where to stay overnight as we will reach Auckland nearly midnight instead of 1245 noontime. The shuttle runs from 7am-8 pm only, so we missed our shuttle and had to rebook again for the next day, 21 July 2024.
We were given fastfood dinner coating 35 ringgit and accommodation 30 minutes drive from the airport. And failed to give us brekfast voucher costing 30 ringgit, we had to secure the next day while trying to catch the flight at 840 am.
We wasted more than 1 day due to their negligence.yet no vompensation from them
They insist on the compensation they gave for the stress, lack of sleep, unrestricted and fatigue, voucher worth 930 ringgit to use when booking with Malaysia airlines AGAIN.
WHO IN THE RIGHT MIND WILL BOOK AGAIN WITH THEM AFTER WHAT THEY DID?
THIS IS THE WORST AIRLINE I EVER FLEW OF MY 19 years of air travel.
