“Very very good value.”
Review of Wizz Air

Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We got tickets for two people from Reykjavík to Wroclaw and back for less than 170 Euros. The plane was clean, staff was friendly and efficient and the flight was on time. Same to say about our return flight except for a short delay. It is not the first time I fly them and I've always been satisfied with their services.

Myself and a friend were due to fly from Bucharest to London at 19:40 on the evening of sunday, 18th of March. In order to dispute the airline's refusal to compensate we are looking for fellow passengers on this flight, to corroborate the following information:

**Initial delay without information from the airline, either in person or via their app.

**Half of the flight eventually boarded a bus to transport from the gate to the plane where they remained for an inordinate amount of time, in the freezing cold. They then eventually returned to the gate and into the building.

**Airline staff eventually appeared to have at least told some small portion of the increasingly irate passengers that it had been cancelled, evidenced by their leaving the gate, shortly followed by the rest of us who had no idea what was happening.

**We waited in a queue at Wizz air ticketing, uncertain of what was happening, again, with little sign of Wizz Air staff to inform us what we were queuing for. (There were rumblings amongst the crowd that the cancellation was due to staff shortages)

**Once near the ticketing office we eventually discovered that there were actually two queues, one to book a replacement flight (There were none available for us for 2-3 days) and another to book accommodation for the night. As there were two of us, we'd have definitely taken a queue each, had we been informed at any reasonable time...

**Once it was evident that the airline could not provide us with a suitable alternative but that we would have to stay at the hotel for the night, to figure it out ourselves, we waited for hotel transport, again with no information from airline representatives as to when this might be arriving. When a representative was present... because she was on a cigarette break, she confirmed that the cancellation was due to staff shortages but said that a bus would be arriving shortly. When taxi's started arriving, the assumption was that that these were private taxi's. It transpired that these were for the hotel transfer but by the time I could confirm this, all places were taken. A bus eventually arrived to take us to the hotel.

**Once at the hotel, we queued for another ridiculous period of time, for many of us to discover that the airline hadn't forwarded the relevant information to the hotel. Thankfully, the hotel were accommodating and took passport scans and flight confirmation details to ensure they had a record of guests.

Anyhow, despite an airline representative (eventually) telling us that the cancellation was due to staff-shortage, upon my friends attempt to claim compensation, she was refused, on the grounds that they were claiming that the cancellation was due to extreme weather... difficult to swallow when you consider all the other flights operating from that airport on the same day, in the same conditions.

For context, we were due to fly at 7:40pm, we eventually spoke to someone at Wizz air ticketing at 11:53pm and it was almost 3am by the time we were eventually checked into a hotel.

If you were on this flight, have claimed successfully or are yet to file one yourself, please get in touch via private message.

Wizz air.. AVOID!

Really only bad thing about this fligh was a short delay, but it wasn't the fault of the company but border and custom officers.
Nice plane, good enough seats, overall quite good.
